Coach Pick-up & Transfer
Guests are collected from Cairns, Palm Cove, Trinity Beach or Port Douglas hotels. Accessible coach with hydraulic lift and wheelchair securements is available on request.
Park Entry & Wildlife Discovery Trail
The coach pulls into the off-street parking area immediately to the right of the main entry, designated for mobility-impaired drivers and coaches. From there, passengers cross a small kerb ramp with a 25 mm lip onto level concrete paths. Guests explore the Wildlife Discovery Trail on wide concrete and compacted gravel surfaces with gentle gradients and large glass-panel viewing windows at reptile enclosures for seated observation.
Wetlands Boat Cruise
Board the 25-minute Wetlands boat cruise via wide gates and a gently sloping ramp into a seating area configured for mobility devices. Raised viewing positions offer close observations of saltwater crocodiles in their natural habitat.
Wildlife Amphitheatre Shows
Attend the live Snake Show and Crocodile Attack Show in the Wildlife Amphitheatre, where tiered seating includes reserved spaces at the top row for mobility-device users with unobstructed sightlines.
Lilypad Cafe & Exhibits
Enjoy lunch at the Lilypad Cafe or Lilies Restaurant where clear circulation space provides easy access. Accessible toilets are adjacent to Lilies Restaurant and at the Gallery of Living Art. After lunch guests may stroll the Cassowary Garden loop on compacted gravel paths or visit the Koala and Wallaby displays on level pathways. Lunch not included (purchases available on site).
Return to Cairns
Return to the coach via the side-loading lift and wheelchair securement system for the journey back to the original pickup locations.
Meeting Point & Times
- Cairns, Palm Cove and Trinity Beach tours run Tuesday through Saturday
- Port Douglas tours run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Departs Cairns at 11:45 am and returns to Cairns at approximately 6:00 pm
- Departs Palm Cove and Trinity Beach at 12:45 pm and returns at approximately 5:30 pm
- Departs Port Douglas at 7:45 am and returns at approximately 2:00 pm
Accessible Transport
- Down Under Tour's accessible coach features a hydraulic lift to accommodate guests using wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
- Designed specifically with a side loading ramp to allow the coach to also tow a luggage trailer, which can assist with transport of other mobility aids such as personal lifts etc that cannot be carried inside the vehicle.
- This coach can be used as a standard 19 seat vehicle or be reconfigured to provide space for 4 Wheelchairs + 12 coach seats.
